Jan. 27: Attend the On-Time Pressure Ulcer Prevention Program Webinar
Published On: Dec 15, 2015Updated On: Jan 21, 2016 Nursing homes with electronic health records (EHR) are invited to participate in the On-Time Pressure Ulcer Prevention Program (OTPP) for 12 months beginning in Mar. 2016. Only 50 nursing homes will be accepted into the program, which was created by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ).
AHRQ has contracted with NORC at the University of Chicago, and its partner Stratis Health, to help the 50 participating nursing homes implement and evaluate the OTPP. The participating nursing homes will receive individualized technical assistance and education from a facilitator.
Nursing homes that are interested in participating in OTPP must apply online. Applications will only be accepted until 50 nursing homes have been selected.
Learn more about OTTP during an introductory webinar on Jan. 27 12:30-1 p.m. EST. Register for the webinar.
About the On-Time
The On-Time Pressure Ulcer Prevention Program integrates clinical reports from an EHR into an evidence-based process that identifies residents who are at risk for pressure ulcer development.
Using these reports, nursing homes participating in the program work with an experienced facilitator to implement team-based strategies aimed at improving risk identification and care planning.
These team-based strategies allow nursing home staff to intervene in a timely manner with at-risk residents in order to reduce the incidence of pressure ulcers.
OTPP has already been proven effective in reducing the incidence of pressure ulcers among nursing home residents. An outcome evaluation conducted with New York nursing homes showed a 59% reduction in the incidence of pressure ulcers when at least 3 On-Time reports were integrated into care planning processes.
