How You Can Help Prevent 11% Cut in Nursing Home Payments

Published On: Jun 13, 2011Updated On: Aug 02, 2011 On July 29, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) released a final rule that called for an 11.1% cut to Medicare payment rates for skilled nursing facilities (SNF).
We need your help in demonstrating the impact this proposal has on not-for-profit nursing homes. Please use our calculator to automatically calculate the difference in your total Medicare payment and the rate difference for each RUG from current fiscal year 2011 RUGs-IV rates to those proposed for fiscal year 2012. Then let us know what you found.
We will continue to work with CMS, and with policymakers on Capitol Hill, to get the formulas corrected not only to mitigate the immediate payment cut, but also to prevent the problem from compounding in the future.
