IAHSA-CAST Global Aging Forum Explores Technology

Published On: May 21, 2014Updated On: Jul 17, 2014 The critical role of technology in addressing our global aging phenomenon will be the topic for discussion when the International Association of Homes and Services for the Ageing (IAHSA) and LeadingAge CAST hold an IAHSA-CAST Global Aging Technology Forum on Sept. 24 in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
The forum precedes the Annual Conference of the European Association of Homes and Services for the Ageing (EAHSA), which takes place on Sept. 25-26 in Amsterdam.
Forum Speakers and Topics
The Global Aging Technology Forum will explore how technology can provide meaningful support to older adults and people of all ages with disabilities, as well as those who provide services and supports to these individuals.
The day will feature presentations by prominent leaders the field of aging and technology, including:
- Wolfgang Meyer of Sozialwerk St. Georg.
- Dr. Heribert Baldus of Philips Group Innovation-Europe.
- Dr. Jon Sanford of Georgia Tech.
- Dr. Majd Alwan of LeadingAge CAST.
Speakers will:
- Explore actual and potential uses of a broad array of technologies that have been shown to improve quality of life, enhance efficient delivery of care and services and potentially reduce costs.
- Review recent research exploring the effectiveness of technology in addressing chronic care management and other needs associated with aging.
- Explore emerging technologies and their application to real-world settings.
- Examine technology-enabled care models for delivering long-term services and supports in a variety of settings.
