LeadingAge Workforce Survey: A Step Toward Solving Workforce Issues

Is your organization facing workforce challenges?

Are you curious about how your turnover and retention rates compare with other not-for-profit providers of aging services?

Are you eager to learn about strategies that other LeadingAge members are using to recruit and retain workers?

LeadingAge recently launched a national strategic initiative to help members around the country strengthen their workforces. But we need your help with the initiative’s important first step: A Workforce Survey.

Why a Workforce Survey?

The National Workforce Survey will provide LeadingAge with information about workforce-related issues and trends affecting not-for-profit providers of aging services. Specifically, we will study how workforce issues affect different business lines, including assisted living communities, nursing homes, and home and community-based services (HCBS).

We are asking LeadingAge members to complete our new Workforce Survey between now and December so we can learn more about the workforce issues you face. We will send you a report about our findings once we analyze the survey data.

How Does the Survey Process Work?

Here’s how the survey process works:

  • You’ll get an email: We’ll send our Workforce Survey in an email to human resource (HR) professionals at LeadingAge member organizations. If your organization doesn’t have an HR director, the survey will go to the chief executive officer (CEO) or executive director. 
  • You’ll get an assignment: We’ll be asking each member to complete a survey for just one of its business lines. If you have more than one business line – for example, if you offer skilled nursing and HCBS – we will assign you one business line that we’d like you to address in your survey. 
  • You’ll get clear instructions: Your email, and the introduction to your survey, will clearly specify the business line we’d like you to address in your survey. Assigning you a business line will help us ensure that our final data contains information from representative samples across all member business lines.
